Thank you!
Hey My Lovelies,
So here in the East Midlands the sun has packed up and moved out again so I guess that was a lovely week of summer we had this year.
This week has been a really busy one which is why anyone who usually follows my stories on social media will noticed I have been pretty quiet. I will be back more next week I promise.
So it seems all the projects I have been working on after months of what seems like nothing really moving forward are suddenly all needing my time attention or are nearing completion at the same time. It's like waiting for a bus sometimes.
One thing I have learnt about about this industry/ business is that patience is everything. This skill is not one that I poses naturally.
I thought I was the most impatient person until I met Dean!
Dean wins that competition hands down... so now when he asks me for an update on a project or product we have been working on for 6 months and he gets all excited and says "so will it be ready next month?" and I have to tell him there are still 5,000 steps it has to go through first so it's more like 4 months away, I have learnt to fake my patience, I put on my best night-time meditation voice and I tell him all the usual cliché things like
"The best things come to those who wait"
or
"Yes I know it's frustrating but you can't rush the process"
or my personal favourite
"it just is what it is"
Does it help him to chill out, loosen up and just go with the flow? abso-frickin-loutely not!
But it does weirdly help me to chill out a little.
So we are literally only a couple of weeks away from our Makeup Brush Shampoo launching! When I talk about patience here is an example of what I mean....we began this project around 2 years ago! 2 YEARS! I mean granted we have been in the midst of a global pandemic that tends to slow things down just a tad so I guess that's not the norm time line.
But still, when you're like an over excited kid in a sweet shop it feels like 2 years on the naughty step.
I am so so so so so excited for this to finally be available! and I just want to say thank you to everyone that has been patiently waiting with us this last month.
We are still very new to this product development thing and as we are still such a teeny tiny baby company It's pretty much just me working with the manufacturers and formulators etc. on these projects.
But we are learning so much with each project we start and I am now starting to get a much better handle on when we need to start particular projects to hit a certain finish date etc. (I am becoming a grown up)
I really do love what I do, sometimes I get so bogged down and busy in the day to day of juggling everything especially when you are still a tiny company but growing quickly because you end up wearing so many different hats, some days it can feel like I am stood on one leg, spinning plates and trying to play catch all at the same time but when I stop for a minute and actually reflect I feel so unbelievably lucky to be doing something I love so much.
I owe it all to those of you reading this. Lets be honest we have without a doubt the best customers I could of ever wished for. You are what makes this a passion for me. You are who I turn to for help with decisions, ideas on new products, spotting problems with products out in the market already, sharing this journey with and you are my supportive ears when I need them.
So it's thanks to you that I love what I do so much! xoxo
I remember the day I quit my job and I drove away from the office for the last time I was full of excitement and pure fear, granted It has been a LONG journey with many failures, tears and times I thought, "what on earth have I done" but had someone been able to show me back then the incredible customers we would have today, 1) I don't think I would of believed them but 2) It would of made the tough journey so much easier to handle.
Anyway that's it for today just wanted to share something exciting and just say the biggest thank you again for making all of this possible.
Hope you have a lovely weekend
Much Love
